Sources: Andre Drummond to join 76ers on 2-year, $10M deal

Sixers Bolster Frontcourt as Andre Drummond Returns on Two-Year Deal The Philadelphia 76ers wasted no time addressing a need this offseason, as veteran center Andre Drummond is reportedly returning to the City of Brotherly Love on a two-year, $10 million deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. 

 

 Drummon.d is no stranger to the Sixers fanbase, having played 49 games for Philadelphia during the 2021-22 season before being dealt to the Brooklyn Nets as part of the James Harden trade package. He spent the last two seasons with the Chicago Bulls, solidifying their frontcourt with his rebounding prowess. 

 

 While his scoring numbers have dipped in recent years, Drummond remains a force on the glass. He averaged a respectable 8.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game for the Bulls last season, and boasts a career average of a double-double (12.7 points, 12.4 rebounds). This presence will be a welcome addition for the Sixers, providing much-needed relief for franchise cornerstone Joel Embiid.

 

The signing signifies Philadelphia's commitment to building a strong team around Embiid. Drummond's experience and rebounding ability will lessen the burden on Embiid, allowing him to stay fresher throughout the season. This move could be particularly impactful in the playoffs, where Embiid's dominance is crucial for the Sixers' success.
