Wild Thang crowned winner of 2024 'World's Ugliest Dog' contest

Wild Thang Wins the World's Ugliest Dog Contest in 2024! Move over Mr. Peabody, there's a new king (or should we say, emperor?) of canine curiousness! Wild Thang, an eight-year-old Pekingese with a personality as big as his, well, everything, has been crowned the winner of the 2024 World's Ugliest Dog contest!

This wasn't Wild Thang's first shot at glory. The persistent pup, hailing from Coos Bay, Oregon, has been competing for five years and finally snagged the top spot at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California.

While the title might sound like a backhanded compliment, the World's Ugliest Dog contest is all about celebrating the unique charm of our imperfectly perfect canine companions. Wild Thang's victory proves that true beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and, well, facial expressions.

This year's win wasn'just about bragging rights (and a hefty $5,000 prize!). Wild Thang's victory shines a light on the amazing work shelters and rescues do in finding loving homes for all sorts of dogs, regardless of their pedigree or appearance. So, congratulations to Wild Thang and his human, Ann Lewis. May your reign as the World's Ugliest Dog be long and full of belly rubs and delicious treats!
